Let's get some chat going about the race next weekend.  Rec-Plex was my first triathlon, so I'm very excited to be returning to "the scene of the crime" where I got hooked.

Will this be anybody's first race?

Does everybody have their BT tattoo?

How are we going to find each other?

I will be there...i have a tacky looking blue bike with one red tire, one black tire and red tape (thought the red would look cool, but i was wrong...luckly i had to buy ONE tire so i got a black but can't justify buying another brand new tire when i don't need it!

This will be my second triathlon. My first was last October at the Rec-Plex and I did it in a team (I did the bike and run). This time I’m doing the whole thing and I’m a little nervous, but optimistic. I got a new road bike this past weekend so I’m hoping my ride will be quick. My swim start offset time is 1:12:15 so I guess that puts me in the water around 8:12am. Anyway, I’m stoked and ready!

Due to my recent news, I won't be doing the race this year.  Definitely next year, though.

Whoa! I start 5:45 offset!!  I'm so used to pacing around a race venue for 2-3 hours before the start, this will be weird for me. I was hoping to watching some swimmers for an hour or so before I got going.  Oh well, I guess it's to my advantage to get out there while it's cool and calm.

I can't think of a better way to spend Father's Day than by triing.  I'm excited for this first race of the season!

I'm number 157! My offset time is 0:39:00!

I did the St. Pete's race last fall. It was good. I'm trying to taper but I'm so excited all I want to do is run around, do a bunch of laps in the pool, or ride all day!

I first heard the weather was going to be scattered thunderstorms, now it's supposed to be partly cloudy.

I'll be rock'n Trigger and a orange and white stripped towel in the transition area! How will I find my fellow BT'ers?

You can find me easily if you're the 2nd person at the race site. I'll be the first.

I usually arrive ridiculously early.  Just ask slovegreen.  Anyway, I'll be there with a RED Scott road bike with aero bars.  I'll have an end-piece.  And I usually wear black and red. I'll probably even sport a BT tattoo.  Gotta represent!

See you all out there. Have a great day, everyone!

Well, the forecast looks better for Sunday. I’m not too excited about the heat though.

I’ll be on a Giant OCR2 and I’ll be wearing orange socks that say “Test Dummy” on them.

This will be my first serpentine swim. Any advice from those of you that have done this swim before?

Hey ciphin78, don't worry about flip turns.  Just touch the wall and push off!  I think the first two lanes are split in half so they can accommodate the distance.

one thing i learned from serpentine swim is start cutting over to the next side early. In my very first one, i swam right to the wall, shuffled to the next side then pushed off. Not that it saves THAT much time, but it does help.

my off set is like 25m or so. I have a blue bike with one red tire, one black and red aero bars...aka "the clown bike"

Mmmm... those burritos were GREAT! Good luck to everyone racing on Sunday. I can't since my husband has golf plans. Darn Father's Day! Looking forward to the Fall Tri.

I'll be racing Saturday at Scott AFB. It's going to be a HOT weekend!

Stay cool and have fun!

it was good. run was hot, but i got to meet brandon, aka "getsome", his wife and very cute baby girl.

i got 2nd in my age group.

Brandon got 2nd (i think) in teams....too bad he couldn't do it all by himself! Laughing

It was a good race..the run was very hot! and we had to wait around too long for the awards, but overall it was fun.

Sounds like everyone had a blast!  Congratulations on the race!  I did pretty well.  I finished the bike leg faster than I thought I would!

The heat wasn't too much fun on the run.

I'm new here and to triathlons. My goal is to run this rest next year. I'll put an intro about myself in the getting to know you thread.
