Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30 am, got dressed and had breakfast. Banana and Clifbar. Drank plenty of fluids. Loaded the car and headed out around 5 am.
Event warmup:

Set up transition and used the porto. Put on mu kicks and ran a little bit to warm up. It was a bit chilly for me. Grabbed my wetsuit, took a Gu and swam to the first ornage buoy (end of the dock) and came back for the National Anthem. My wave was #4.

Just a really good swim for me after Eaglman last week. I felt really comfortable and sighted incredibly well.

Solid transition removed my wetsuit to the ankles and grabbed my helmet andput it on. Then I just kicked out of mu suit and grabbed the bike running.

Had a comfortable bike leg. Here's where I thought I would start hurtn after Eagleman but just kept my head down and turned the pedals. I was really pleased.

Awesome transition but over shot my spot! Ugh...I had a deer in headlights moment. I looked behind me and there it was. Racked my bike, got my shoes on and took off.

The run was great and I believe I got stronger as the miles went on. Im really surprised, I wasnt expecting much today. My body was in much better shape than what my mind was telling me!

Warm down:

Hung out with friends, which is always great and had some water and oranges. Stuck around for the awards ceremony as it was the 25th year! Excellent Day!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing this was everything I had in the tank!

Home town race on a beautiful day...man it doesnt get any better, well doing welll is just icing on the cake!

Great work on the race! It was a beautiful day. I sat and spectated and got a 25 mile ride in after race and lunch. It's such a great local event. You might catch me in a wetsuit next year! Maybe I will actually get to meet you next year

Nice job!  Especially after Eagleman.

 

I did this race 3 years ago and hope to get home (parent's home) again to do it next year.
