 Swim
Comments: This was a horrible swim. I was never able to get into a rhythm. This was my first OWS since I was younger, and I paid the price for not practicing. I started outside back, which was the only smart thing I did. I'll jsut say I didnt breath well, or even get into a decent stroke the entire swim. I am a much better swimmer than this. I guess I learned the difference between OWS and the lap pool. What would you do differently?: Suck Less  Transition 1
Comments: I took it a little slow, just to get my bearings. What would you do differently?: Nothing this time, this was what I expected. I would like to try and have shoes already attached to pedals in the future. Maybe that will be for next year.  Bike
Comments: Hmm, what to say. I just need to spend more time on the bike. Especially on hills. I have only been riding since March, so I'm not too concerned at this point. I felt OK with the bike portion. What would you do differently?: Push harder. Transition 2
Comments: HAd to stop at the porta john before the run....so that was a large delay in my transition.  Run
Comments: I felt great off the bike, legs were not crampy. What would you do differently?: I think I should have gone a little harder Post race
Event comments: Hard to rate this race, since I dont have anything to base it on. I thought it was well organized, the volunteers were OUTSTANDING!! I will do this race again next year with better results. Last updated: 2007-01-01 12:00 AM

I have to laugh at the porta-potty part. That happened to me at the Bolder Boulder and as I sat on the throne I could hear the runners passing and I kept thinking "that's another 500 people who are going to beat me to the finish line." It happens to the best of us! |
