Bought this through this forum about a week ago and I can't get the Heart Rate Monitor to work.  Unit is in near flawless condition, has usb cable & ac adapter, software, extendor strap, and original box.

Unit itself picks up gps signal, connects to computer and seems to work perfectly, but unless I'm too stupid, nothing I've tried will get the HRM to work.  I paid $90 for it as it was in "full working condition".

Make me an offer, but I will take it as lesson learned rather than give it away.

My 301 did the same thing and Garmin swapped out my HRM and I have had no problems since. Just wanted to let you know in case that helps you or the next owner. Their customer support was awesome.

Did you try wetting the contacts on your chest strap?

Ya, I tried everything.

Saliva, water, dish soap, scrubbing the electrodes, slightly bending the battery clips, new battery.  Stop HRM, restart, rescan, go outside.  ONLY thing I haven't done is contact Garmin, cause I figure why would/should they warranty it when I'm not the original owner.

Thanks, but that's one of the 1st things I did.

I had the exact same problem. I sent the whole unit to them and they replaced it for me (after doing all the other troubleshooting).
If you really want to keep it you should contact them about repairs. I didn't have to provide any purchase documentation.

I'm probably sunk, they must have had too many problems, cause they don't ask for it to be returned, just a copy of proof of purchase.  Which I provided, but it looks kind of funny in someone else's name and address.
