Extreme Veteran 1106 , Connecticut | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! B, Thanks for the story of your friend. I tend to avoid the swim as I am so poor at it. I have been hitting the pool and am doing 100 yds at a time over and over. I remember when I was too heavy to run and just used an eliptical and now I'm running over an hour, so I have to have trust in my body and the training. Sparkle, Sorry about your dh. This is certainly a time when cooking and planning food tends to get thrown off. Hang strong! MM |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Hey all - if you are grey, thanks for checking in. If you're yella, don't worry... we won't judge, just encourage. Please check in. Congrats to everyone for the great results so far. Like ellasdad said... we need to want it. I know I do! This week's sort is by % of body weight lost during the challenge thus far. Extra kudos to Swimmergirl, Kujhawk, and Paul Walker for leading the pack there.
Let me know if you see any errors or omissions, and I'll be sure to get them cleaned up right away. Josh |

Sometimes it is hard....I said no to all the samples at the warehouse store today really would have liked the cheesecake...but I'd rather be thinner. |

Veteran 157 Colorado Springs | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! That's a good way to think of it when making food decisions Kathy - would I rather eat this treat or be thin? Really it's that simple. Sorry for the late check in - I've been avoiding it b/c I'm up 1 pound at 149. Body fat is 29.5%. Between my birthday and a break up I haven't been making the best food decisions. I'm back on it though, I really do want to lose this weight! Tonight is another b-day dinner - my strategy is to only eat part of whatever I get and bring the rest home. |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Here are the results of week 3. Kudos to everyone, as we have corporately lost exactly 100 pounds! I've sorted once again by % of goal achieved. Congrats to Blizzard, IMCDA, and Kujhawk for leading the pack here. There are many more people right on their heels... in fact 9 people are ahead in the challenge (have lost a greater % of their goal weight than the % of their goal time that has elapsed). Another noteworthy performance... Swimmergirl has also lost over 4% of her starting body weight in 3 weeks - most impressed. On the negative side - we had (by far) record lows for weigh in this week. Let me challenge everyone to pick a handful of teammates and send them an inspire in their logs. In fact, if you simply did 3 inspires a day... you would make it through the entire team every two weeks. Pssst - it would also make it hard for people to forget to weigh in. Please verify your data is correct - I sorted once and messed something up, but I think I got everything repopulated correctly by going back to the week 2 spreadsheet.

Extreme Veteran 1106 , Connecticut | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Hi all, Sorry I missed the WI. Was on vacation last week. Nothing too wild - hubby and I took the kids off to camping with black bears and a water park and then spent the weekend at a Buddhist retreat center. Got one run in, but had too many food treats. When I'm away from home I overeat in fear that I will be hungry later (as if we aren't all 5 mins. from a place to buy food!) I've gained a lb. but just had a physical and my cholesterol is 187, down from 299, and all my other vitals look good. I want to do a local sprint tri next Thursday, should be ready for it. (more ready than I was when I did it first time last summer). Time to kick some ! MM |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: "Brand New You"-New weight loss group! Sandee and others, I have received several PM's to join the group, and of course I will be glad to add each of you to this week's spreadsheet. Sorry I have not responded to everyone. You are not penalized for joining late, as each person's stats are based on the number of days in their individual goals. I need a starting weight, a starting date (if you want it to be other than this Friday), and a goal weight. I will assume you want your goal to end on 9/20/07 (the official challenge end) unless you say otherwise. You can either PM me or post in the week 5 thread, which I will start this thursday. |
