Subject: The real Sue Crystal River Story...

Some of the details Sue left out of her report was that not only did she finish 3rd in her age group in her first triathlon, but she KICKED BUTT on the swim!! She was passing men (from the first wave) like they were sitting (swimming) still. They were posting "no wake" signs behind her!!!

THEN...the bike. When I finally drug my behind out of the water to find my bike, she was already down and coming back. She passed me like a streak of lightning!! We hollered at each other and she was gone!!

The run, she struggled with, but did she get discouraged and stop? HECK NO!!! She stuck it out and finished.

I think she did an amazing job, and she is certainly my mentor!!

Sue,
Thanks for encouraging me, sometimes dragging me, to train and compete in this event!!!

Wendi

Thanks for the real story, Wendi! Sometimes we don't like to brag about ourselves...oh wait, of COURSE we do! But it's always more appropriate if someone else brags FOR us! (My friend does the same for me...syoshida!)

Sue, you left out passing the MEN? Gosh, that one I would be rubbing in their faces!!! :-) Great job!! Same to you, Wendi!

Somehow, I knew there was more to that story.  Thanks for the real lowdown.

Also, I always read your name as GR8SAX.  That works too.

Thanks Wendi. Also thanks for all your family being so nice and cheering for me. It was really sweet. COme on the swim wasn't that good... It was just a small field. I was happy with that part and the bike tho. I knew my run would suck. Everyone needs to learn a lifeguard stroke so they can site the markers on the swim. It was the only thing that saved my swim adn I didn't practice it. Instinct I guess. Take care and don't let the wind blow you off you bike -S

It's Gator Sax, but Great Sax is nice. I played professionally for a year, but don't think I am worthy of "great" nowdays.

GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!

Sue,
It's a southern family thing. A friend of one, is a friend to all!! Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's not!!! :}
