Join Well-Fit Triathlon and Training along with Windy City Sports for free group workouts at Ohio Street Beach, Wednesday nights beginning June 20. Athletes of all abilities have the great opportunity to gain experience in open-water swimming, transitions, and meet other triathletes in a relaxed atmosphere. We meet at 6:15 pm. with brief training advice from Well-Fit coaches. At 6:30pm, swim up to a mile at Ohio Street Beach followed by a three mile run along the Lakefront; train at your own pace and intensity. We’ll keep an eye on your gear while you train. See you starting June 20th! manlow I'm going. Anybody else? Thought it was going to be be a good opp to meet some fellow BTers. I'll be the guy in the sleeveless orca with two pair of goggles.  |

I TOTALLY wussed out...it was too cold. Being that I am still a bit of a beginner in the open water, I didn't make it far. Kudos to those of you who did. I was really wishing I had a LS wetsuit tonight, maybe that would have helped. I'll probably try to meet you guys up there on next Wednesday if it's going to be every wednesday...I'm the slow one, still learning the ropes...but hey, I'm out there trying and I think that's all that counts!!  |

Me: Blue bike, two goggles and no swim cap. I'll be wearing a Team in training full-sleeve wetsuit (since the short-sleeve wasn't quite warm enough last week). I'll probably be chillin' beachside a few minutes (like 10) before the swim starts. This week I'm actually planning to do the full mile instead of wussing out half way!!! |

I'll be the gal in the back struggling...ya can't miss me. That's for sure. I would highly recommend wearing a wet suit. It was so cold last week that my brain nearly froze and fell out of my ear, and I was wearing a sleeveless. This week it's full sleeves and a swimcap for me. |

A date? Niiiice. Hmm I see on the site that they've closed 31st Street beach and South Shore Beach but they don't say why. Are you sure it was closed because of bacteria? Yes, when it is closed, it is due to E-Coli being high in the water, and yes, it is kind of grosse to think about it, but I guess it's all just part of the experience, right? I am not going to be able to join you all tomorrow, as I have to go visit my brother who's in the hospital, but I will plan on meeting y'all next week. Have a good swim! |
