I though the 70.3 championships were in FL? Certain races have Kona qualfying spots. The Lavaman Olympic has two Ironman slots that gets distributed by a lottery out of all the age group winners that want it. Then you just have to finish a HIM before a certain date. I know the Honu HIM has 25 slots for Kona to BI residents and 10-15 for all other island residents. I am sure it has some regular slots as well. To the OP, congrats to your son. That is an excellent accomplishment. PM me if you have any quesations about the Island of Hawaii. |
