Comments: Winnebago was a little "green". What can I say? I am spoiled with Elkhart and Crystal Lake! Transition 1
Comments: My only difficulty was not taking off my timing chip and getting stuck on my heel. What would you do differently?: Remove the timing chip first, then the wetsuit Bike
Comments: By far the biggest inprovement of my race. I really felt stronger on the bike. There was one big hill which i did OK and then after that it was pretty flat. Stayed in aero and just tried stay with a couple of people that were in front of me. I had one guy with me most of the time, but i eventually pulled away at about mile 17 or so. The new bike set-up I think really helped me be more comfortable and get more power out. What would you do differently?: Can't think of anything. Transition 2
Comments: The biggest factor to T2 was almost crashing into the crowd. Had one foot out of the shoe and then hit the grass and lost a little bit of control and then braked right in front of some spectators. Quite exciting. Run
Comments: Well it's always the worst part of my race and the saga continues. First out of T2, I felt pretty good. Tried to keep the pace down and get my heart rate into it's happy place. I was able to do that and then it came, one big a$$ hill. I told myself that i could do it. i beared down on it and I probably lasted a total of 200 yards, it took so much energy and effort that I ran out of gas. I would run and walk in spurts, but the time i got up my HR was way up and i never fully recovered. The trails were nice and i had some good stretches, but it was until i was able to run down the hill that I felt good. LOL Felt some people come up from behind me and i told myself that i wasn't going to be passed by anyone while coming into the finish area. I kicked in to a full out sprint for the last 400 yds or so, Nobody passed me but i was a hurting unit afterward. Post race
Warm down: Food, Massage and more food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental toughness and the extra 20-30 lbs I'm carrying. Last updated: 2007-04-09 12:00 AM

Woke up before the alarm. I know, shocking. I pulled on my tri-shorts and the string pulled through the hole. I didn't panic, but ended up swearing at them and went with the old ones. It set me back 15 minutes. Picked up my brother-in law (BIL) and headed to High Cliff. TriDDS and jzsat were about 15 minutes ahead of us and they scouted the best entrance to the park. Found a great spot outside the park and registered without incident.
I left my water bottle in my cat, so i ended up running back to the car to get it, probably a good mile there and back. Flet good and actually settled the nervs a little.
