Swim
  • 43m 45s
  • 2112 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

never try to take your WS off in the water! Da

It was wild being in such a big body of water, so far from shore!
What would you do differently?:

Take WS off in Transition area like I normally do!
Transition 1
  • 02m 32s
Comments:

Saw a 1st, naked buns in the transition area, unfortunatly they where male buns.
Bike
  • 2h 43m 4s
  • 57.1 miles
  • 21.01 mile/hr
Comments:

Had dislex-a-turn, turned left for the sprint @ "Fargo Springs Road" vs. right for the HIM. Must of been the 4.5 hours of sleep! Only wasted 1.1 miles or about 3 minutes, could have been much worse!

Saw several TRI lady's (out of the corner of my eye, not looking!) do open field pee's, this was a 1st!
What would you do differently?:

Ask @ the turn!
:-)
Transition 2
  • 02m 34s
Comments:

Excellent support, full bottled water and Gatoraide @ 3 locations, the volunteers even ran to make the grab easier!

Saw alot of GURU and Griffith tri bikes? Never heard of them, maybe the company reps dumped a bunch of demo's to get exposure?
What would you do differently?:

Great bike except for missed turn!
Run
  • 2h 05m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

1st hill is a tough one, many walkers, my HR wnet through the roof! Trail running without prep stinks!

I was forced to keep my HR below my normal race HR of 165 due to the heat and I fought cramps in my hamstrings from mile 6 on.
What would you do differently?:

Be better prepared, need to work on running in the heat, and read the coarse desciptions better!

Post race
Warm down:

Kissed Susan!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

84*F temp with 60% RH

Event comments:

Great race would do it again.

My only complaints:
The transition area was tight, to many people where assigned to each rack, making it very difficult to set up gear.

The food @ post race would have been great after a cross country ski race, but it wasn't, it was hot, and the post race food was hot pulled pork, baked potatoes, and hot mixed vegitables. I tried some later and it was good, but all I wanted was cold water melon, cantalope, and a grape icy.

Race link (you can see my Bike mistake on the map, run the Map Player its the 1st T in the coarse going south, didn't use multisport mode):

Wow! All the way from KS! I would have liked to have caught an eyefull of bare male booty

And dang, would have felt more comfortable had I tried that woods pee thing

Nice race! And I hear ya on the food. Nothing looked particularly tasty and fruit would have been ideal for a post race tummy.

Great race with lots of adventure! I saw a couple of people taking off their wetsuits in the water and thought about doing it for about a second. I guess I'm, glad I didn't. Most people were not excited about the food. Of course when I got there the only thing left was bread. By the way, I think Desiree Fricker rode a Guru to second place at Kona last year.

Dah, I just realized people commented on races!

Yep, from Kansas, my inlaws live in GB..

You can have the flash on your next TRI.

I did a Long TRI yesterday, they had cold beer @ the finish! I thought that was just a GB Marathon thing!

Great race for you also!
