Age Group Rank = 7/12
Pre-race routine:

Headed out from work, called my wife who was bringing my daughter (Trigirl10) and my bike. Got checked into the base and set up. Headed to the porta pot.
Event warmup:

Jogged a little and that was about it.
Run
  • 14m 59s
  • 2 miles
  • 07m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

They don't have water stations on the course except at the transition area.

Headed out a little faster than I wanted, but I felt so good. I was not laboring it felt really smooth. Likely could have pushed a little harder, but I was worried I would take too much out of my legs.

Passed a bunch of people in the beginning, then picked off a few more as I was headed into transition.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe hit it just a little harder.
Transition 1
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

I didn't have shoes on the bike, but I did get into the clips pretty well.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Bike
  • 31m

  • 19.35 mile/hr
Comments:

I could tell my legs were still working on the recovery from Sunday. I just felt like I didn't have any power. I was pushing as hard as I could, but just didn't have it tonight.

It was still a very good race time though. I cut 1:28 off last months time.

I had pulled my feel out of my shoes, and was pedaling with them on top. Then I decided to shift into my small chain ring, and pedal backwards to get my legs ready for the run. Well silly me, I did just that... and dropped the chain.
What would you do differently?:

not much other than not drop my chain off my bike 200 yards from the finish.
Transition 2
  • 00m 30s
Comments:

Smooth transition, grabbed water bottle and squirted myself, then grabbed a cup and gulped it down while running.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing other than dropping my chain 200
Run
  • 16m 47s
  • 2 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

I was getting tired, but felt pretty good. Still a pretty respectable time for me. I passed one or two people and was passed by 2 people I think.
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed some water and HEED. Looked for my daughter coming in off the bike. Grabbed my bike and was heading out when she pulled up.

Then I helped her rack her bike and grabbed another water. She headed out and I followed, I jogged pretty easy about 1.5 miles and caught her coming back at the 3/4 mile mark.

As I was running out, I saw the sky darkening, and heard the thunder. I was hoping the rain would hold off until Trigirl10 was done, it did. But we only barely got on the road before the rain came hard.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training, still need more running training.

Event comments:

Great club race.
