Pre-race routine:

Hung out with some folks from work, drank Gatorade and stood around for what seemed like hours.
Event warmup:

Jogged to my place in line then sat down to wait for the start.

Comments:

Took forever to get started; just a morass of people with walkers seeded everywhere. I'm slow, and I spent the whole race passing people. Had a great mental attitude going into the race but was afraid my legs wouldn't cooperate the way my recent runs have gone. The race was fairly steady, though. Battled a side stitch from .5 to 1.5 miles, which slowed me down a bit and had to walk 30 seconds or so after mile 2 since I was too damn hot, but I'm fairly pleased with this run if only because I finished without feeling like I had nothing in me the whole time.

It was hot, though, and that certainly limited my performance.
What would you do differently?:

Not be sick for the last week and take care of whatever stole my mojo.

Warm down:

Found some folks from work and stood around until I kind of stopped sweating. More gatorade and chatting. Finally toweled off, changed, grabbed a sandwich, and socialized some more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The mystery illness and total lack of mojo. Oh, and the heat.

Hey Amanda, I didn't know you were running, too.  Otherwise I would have try to look for you.  It's a fun game to look for familiar faces in such a crowd. 

I like this way for I can PASS people on the run.  Never really happens in other races. 

Good job for a great run after being sick last week.  Hope you have recovered now.
