I just came back from the Gulf, to which it rained 2 of the 3 days. However, that did not stop my daughter and I from swimming. Seven years old and she can already swim in the surf. Man, I wish I swam that well at that age (must be her coach, ha-ha). Anyway, Austin is still under water, the lakes are crazy high, the creeks are raging rivers and it is really starting to get depressing. I have to keep telling myself, "hey, at least my house has not flooded and my family is safe."

With that, I hope none of my BT friends are going through any hard times because of the rains, and I wish everyone safe and enjoyable training/ racing.

By the way, Lake Travis is 31 feet above normal!!!!!!!! and expected to rise another 1 to 2 feet today.

My soccer games keep getting cancelled!

But hey that means I can get a run in this evening.

I do want it to let up so I can go kayaking this weekend though...

I just got back from my run, and I got soaked! It is supposed to go away Thursday and be gone for awhile.

My soccer games keep getting cancelled, too.  Sucks.  And it's too much water for canoeing.   This rain can end any time, now.

Be careful what you wish for. Things seem to happen to the extremes around here. After the droughts I've seen, I'll never complain about too much rain in DFW, especially in the summer.

I said that last year. But good gravy...this is a lot of stinking rain.

I second that. I've been in droughts before, but our ground can NOT take anymore rain. The highland lake folks are having their houses destroyed. And what is the weather doing right this second? Raining, of course.

We're cloudy but semi-dry for the moment in Cedar Park.  I'm so sick of the rain! My kids and dogs are going nuts.  The last forecast that I saw said another WEEK of this nonsense and then we'll get some clear skies.  You watch, after this is over, we won't see rain again until September!  And when was the last time you got to July without having to run your sprinklers?

Sigh.....

You know, if there is one good thing about all this rain, at least my electricity bill isn't skyrocketing through the roof like every other summer.

How to avoid rain: Go caving!

Just spent the morning underground and no rain down there. Well there were some puddles...

If you ever want an upper body work out, get on your belly and go crawling. Definitely going in my training log.
