Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:15, showered (not really sure why but I did), ate a little oatmeal and left for the race.
Event warmup:

None, other than walking around.
Run

Comments:

I felt like I went out too fast up the hills but I was able to pace myself about half way through by getting behind a guy and not letting myself pass him. This was my fastest 5k ever so I was very, very happy!!!
What would you do differently?:

Wear my fuel belt for more hydration.
Post race
Warm down:

Holy cow!! I was drenched in sweat!!! I walked around, stretched, drank water and ate half a nanner! Even at 7am it was sooooper hot!!!!

Event comments:

The race only had two water stations which for the heat I did not think was enough. It was a very small race but organized well and lots of fun. The parade after was very nice! :)

Gina, I just laughed when I saw your RR for a Firecracker 5k, cause this Gina did the same here in my neck of the woods, and got my own pr too!  Way to go on your race, especially with the heat and all.

Gina - Awesome effort there my friend. Don't envy you running in that heat. I am not surprised you got a PB at all, as your training lately has been very consistent. Keep it up and by the end of the season you will be going under 9min miles.
