Pre-race routine:

Got up at 6am. Coffee, banana and yogurt. Drove with Holley to the Marta.
Event warmup:

Walked about a mile from Marta to our time slot area and stood around for about 30-40mins

Comments:

Really wanted to run this race but my friend wasn't able to do it and I didn't have the heart to take off on her. We ran some, but mostly walked. Our gun time was 2:15:52. Race was really well organized and a lot of fun. Tons of folks out there on the sides and the business all along the route got involved.

I wanted to run this a few years ago when I was an avid smoker. I remember thinking how hard it would be. Now, after doing a few tri's, it didn't seem like that big a deal. That's pretty cool.
What would you do differently?:

Run a qualifier, get seeded and actually run the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked through Piedmont Park and got water and t-shirts. Walked another 2 miles back to the Marta station and hit IHOP on the way home. Then a 2 hour 'recovery' nap.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Didn't seem to be a lot of post race stuff going on, but maybe I just didn't look in the right spot. Great race overall, look forward to doing it again next year.

What limited your ability to perform faster? "Manners." I love it. That was really nice of you to stay back with your friend. It sounded like you had a good time, even if you didn't get to really race it. Congrats on quitting smoking too .
