Comments: I was happy with my first mile split and tried to just hold onto that pace until the hills began in mile 3. The hills weren't as bad as I remembered and my third mile split wasn't as slow as I was expecting. I tried to maintain that pace and was planning to start my kick when we turned onto 10th street. That stretch on 10th street is much farther than I remember, but I pushed myself and ran my fastest mile split. What would you do differently?: Not much. Since I'm training for a marathon, I'm not used to running at a 10k pace. My goal was to break 46 and I did, so I'm perfectly happy with that. I'd really like to one day finish in the top 100 women and top 1000 overall. I was the 126th woman and 1322nd overall this year. Maybe next year! Post race
Warm down: Talked with some other GFA'ers in the park. Jogged back to Peacthree to meet up with family. Then jogged back to our car on the GT campus. Probably just over a mile total for the cooldown. What limited your ability to perform faster: Marathon training at a slower pace. Last updated: 2007-02-20 12:00 AM

Got to the Lenox area about an hour before race time. I was still full from dinner, so I had skipped breakfast. Took a gel about 20 minutes before the race started.
Did some light stretching in the corral.
