Overall Rank = 166/215

Age Group Rank = 36/42
Pre-race routine:

I woke up at 4:45, ate breakfast, grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I arrived at the race site at 6:00. I needed to pump my tires and started on my back one and it wouldn't stay inflated. I stayed calm and ask someone who knew like they had experience doing this for help. The walk to the transition area took a little longer than I thought.
Event warmup:

Since I had to have my bike looked at, set up my area, wait in line FOREVER for the bathroom - I didn't get to warm up. I did a few stretches and kept drinking water. I didn't really have time to even think.
Swim
  • 14m 31s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Push myself harder and not hold back as much.
Transition 1
  • 03m 6s
Comments:

I spent wayyyyyy too much time drying my feet off! haha

Other than that I had no problem getting my shoes, helmet, glasses, and gloves on. The gloves did slow me down some.
What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't spend so much time trying to dry off. I also was chatting some with my mom and dad along the sidelines!
Bike
  • 53m 48s
  • 15 miles
  • 16.73 mile/hr
Comments:

Need to log more miles on the bike
What would you do differently?:

keep my cadance up and push harder on the downhill
Transition 2
  • 02m 15s
Comments:

I was much quicker during this transition. Put my shoes on, grabbed the race belt, and took a quick drink of water.
Run
  • 31m 14s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 02s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs felt like bricks and I was really struggling the first mile. Once I got my legs worked out I started to feel like myself. I was soooo HOT and my feet fell asleep. I wasn't happy with my time and my legs just felt heavy. My breathing was great though.
What would you do differently?:

I wouldn't tie my shoes so tight because my feet fell asleep! I need to do more brick workouts
Post race
Event comments:

For my first Tri I had a GREAT experience. I am hooked and can't wait to do another one!

Overall: 83/215
Performance: Average
I started out in front of the swim and kept a steady pace as I approached the main bouy. I had a couple kicks to the head, arms flying in my face, but I just kept on swimming. I thought I would finish more towards the front of the pack and around 11 min - but it was my first one and I think i held back a little too much.

FANTASTIC!!! What a great race you had!  Now you know what you need to work on and what you need to change, go from there.  You will be better with each race and more comfortable with all the pacing.  GREAT JOB!

Woo hoo! Congrats on a race well done!  You were flying in the water for sure.  Sorry everyone missed everyone (except Kapinto who met everyone).  Your legs will definitely get adjusted to running that first mile after a few races too.  Great job!
