I'm so desperate to improve my swimming I'd try anything. Perhaps a TI DVD would be better.

It may work but that guy sure looks silly. If you get one then let us know how you like it. Include pictures so that we can get a good laugh.

At $2,500 I think I'll try TI first

If you would spend 2,500.00 on the equipment, why not try a swim coach?  I had 5 lessons for 150.00, and my swimming improved dramatically!  It was well worth it.

But, like the others said, if you do buy it, please post some pics of you training on it!

I think I would need a Dramamine before using it

In my case, the money would be better placed towards something like...A BIKE.

  • ..but placed in a circuit with a bike trainer, and a treadmill, I wouldn't need to leave the house this winter.

  • ...and the possibilities for indoor mock tris during the winter...

That thing looks pretty crazy... doesn't look like too many benefits from it. As others have said, I think it would hender your swimming technique. I'd take the $2500 and invest into one of those endless pools!

If you do get one, let us know how it works (or doesn't work).

For $36.95, you can get almost the same results with the StretchCordz http://store.yahoo.com/trisports/strecwithan.html.

I had the same thought about the groin pressure! Wouldn't fancy staying on that baby long and I am a girl ;-) If you don't have access to indoor pools for winter training why not go to the gym and work on swim specific muscles. Then when you need them you will quickly regain swim fitness. If you can go to the pool lay the money on a good one to one swim coach as recommended by the others here. I have a slow internet connection so it took a while for the animation to kick in but when it did I certainly got the giggles. I admire your dedication to the cause if you are willing to commit so much to your swim training. With such commitment you will improve, with or without the snazzy training machine. Dx

You would need an additional $16,000: http://www.endlesspools.com/faqs/faq_faqs.html#16

not sure if i am pointing out the obvious but that is building strength not technique! that is like getting a weightlifter in the water and putting him agaisnt a 12 year old club swim champ who will win power or technique...technique ever time...hell for that hire a tri coach! think how little the swim actually contributes...you could even buy a pair of tri spokes!

Me buy one of those things!!!!
I was kidding! Like ex Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura used to say at his press conferences "It's a joke, its a joke, its a joke"
The action sequence at the top gave me the giggles too.
Autumn, if I wasn't so far away, I'd take the name of your swim coach in a flash.
