Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:15, took a shower, got my shit together and took off in the car. Slammed a gatorade nutrition shake on the way to mike_in_WI's house and then had some toast + PB on the way to the race
Event warmup:

Stretched and relaxed, jogged a little, and then took a nice swim in the jungle weeds of pewaukee lake
Swim
  • 07m 14s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

So i signed up late for the race...and that meant i got the WORST transition spot at the very back of the parking lot and also got to go off in the very last wave...my own fault and il remember not to do that again. Anyways i had to climb over and battle people for basically the whole swim but i was still pretty happy with my swim because i stayed relaxed and was ready to roll come biking time
Transition 1
  • 03m 17s
Comments:

Spot was at the way way way back of transition so that explains why my time looks so bad...wetsuit was awesome for the swim and i had no problem getting out of it fast.
What would you do differently?:

Not sign up so damn late
Bike

Comments:

Bike ride was GREAT today!! i think i got passed by 2 people the whole ride and i felt like i must have passed about 500 other people. The legs felt great and all the hard practice that ive done on the bike definitely paid off. the hills felt great and i only got out of the saddle on one of them and that was just to go a little faster up one hill. very very happy with the ride!
Transition 2
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

bought some lock tie laces for my shoes yesterday and it was a great purchase! popped off the bike shoes and whipped on the shox and i was ready to rock!
What would you do differently?:

notttttttttttthin
Run
  • 22m 27s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

Decided to avoid the gatorade on the run today (didnt need an elkhart remix :). first mile was tough with that bitch of a hill but i kept pushing and looked at my watch and was surprised to see a 7:30 first mile so i kept the pace going. Got to the turn around and couldnt believe that i still felt so good...weird! With about a mile to go a mom started to pass me and i decided that was not going to happen so i started to pick it up. With 1/4 mile to go i saw a guy with marquette cycling shorts on so i chased that sucka down and showed him that marquette PT can take down the cycling team any day :D
What would you do differently?:

Keep working on my running to pull that time down
Post race
Warm down:

Sat my sorry ass on the ground with some pancakes and gatorade

What limited your ability to perform faster:

shitty transition spot, lots of people in the way, havent trained at much faster speeds

Great Job! Good job at passing all those people. Sometime that's kinda fun, even though you have to weave around them. :D Keep it up boy!!!!!
