Sunny
Total Time = 1h 42m 45s
Overall Rank = 1047/1451
Age Group = f35-39
Age Group Rank = 73/120
Pre-race routine:

Got out of bed at 4:15, at my waffles with peanut butter, bottle of water and away we went
Event warmup:

Half mile jog and lots of stretching
Swim
  • 10m 1s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

It looked scarey than it was. Lots of grassy seaweed. I kind of felt like cousin it with all that green all over me. Had to keep pulling it off my arms and neck since it was all stirred up from ealier waves. I was in dead last wave. That'll learn me to sign up late.
What would you do differently?:

Work on my swimming. Definately my least favorite part. I felt better than I thought I would.
Transition 1
  • 03m 7s
Comments:

Late waves get worst racks. Need to sign up earlier. Had to run to back of transition to get bike. Parking lot was slippery from earlier waves and it was a slight decline to bike. Had to go slow so I wouldn't fall.
What would you do differently?:

Sign up earlier
Bike
  • 1h 00m 1s
  • 16.4 miles
  • 16.40 mile/hr
Comments:

Hills weren't as bad as I thought, which made for great downhill speed. Didn't hold back with the speed as I thought I would.
What would you do differently?:

Train on hills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 32s
What would you do differently?:

Not tie my shoes so tight. My toes were asleep when I got off the bike.
Run
  • 28m 2s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 02s  min/mile
Comments:

Like the bike, work on hills. That first one was a killer. Felt great with all the locals cheering us on.
What would you do differently?:

Kick it a little earlier.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of water and stretching. Yummy pancakes and fruit on the grass. What a great feeling to finish my first Tri.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Shoes too tight, feet fell asleep. Downhills were so steep I had to almost put on the brakes...killed my knees.

Event comments:

I don't have anything else to compare it to yet:)
