Total Time = 1h 31m 34s
Overall Rank = 91/117
Age Group = 35 to 39
Age Group Rank = 19/21
Pre-race routine:

Wake up 3 hours before race have about 20oz of water and a powerbar. At 2 hours, another 20oz and another powerbar.
Event warmup:

Bike loop and run loop
Swim
  • 19m 1s
  • 574 yards
  • 03m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started off with a good stroke and breathing. Really felt like I was in a good rhythm, but that went south when I noticed by navigating. I swam about 30 degrees off true and ended up closer to the far bank than the course's near bank. This caused me to swim much further than I should have.

The bright side, I was able to breath and stroke much better than the first and last time.
What would you do differently?:

I still need to work on my stroke and navigating
Transition 1
  • 01m 55s
Comments:

Had my helmet on backwards :> Spent an extra bit of time to get that straightened out.
What would you do differently?:

I know that I wasted some time with the helmet that I could have been moving through. I wanted a bit to bring my HR down before hitting it hard on the bike.
Bike
  • 47m 14s
  • 15 miles
  • 19.05 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike. Brought my breathing & HR into control and then went out to make up some time from the swimming disaster.
What would you do differently?:

Prepare more
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

Used yanks this time. Got out of T2 well.
Run
  • 22m 26s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 08m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good going out. Pace was about right in the beginning to work out the bike legs. Built to a faster pace at about the right time to finish strong.
What would you do differently?:

Prepare better
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swimming hasn't gotten enough focus. I've been working on TI drills, but hadn't spent much time doing laps and even less time trying to navigate.

I also have been in a funk since May. Need to get out of it and get back into decent training.
