DON'T try anything new on race day!  Don't add something different at 2 am.  Don't eat anything differently than you normally eat before a long training day.  Maybe more of what you are used to, but that is it.

Trust me.  I did not listen to this advice before IM CdA and paid for it with GI issues on race day.

IM day is not the time to find out what you can and can't handle in the early AM.

What I did for IMAZ:

Up at 4h00.
Ate:
2 bananas (200 cal)
2 chocolate ensures (500 cal)
2 Erin's breakfast cookies (200 cal)
32oz Gatorade (200 cal)
possibly a Payday bar (180 cal)

TOTAL: 1100-1280 cal.

I kept drinking Gatorade until the time I got to transition to set stuff up, then switched over to H20. I was set for the day.
