Pre-race routine:

These times are all estimates

Well this proves I have not raced in forever. Well first off lets go back to the night before, I decided to cook,(well buy the stuff and my mom being so great did cook) dinner for myself my gf and her son, my parents, my roomate, and Chris(trigods) Shannon(Fitphd) and Parker chris son. had a great dinner and great to catch up with chris and shannon. So woke up early had my bannana and pb sandwich then Chris and I rode to the race which was only a mile from my house. So we get set up and I get my transition area ready then I realize crap no bar plugs in my road bike.....could not find any anywhere or anyone with extras so I call my dad and have him run to my house and get my tri bike. He shows up crap no pedals still did not put them back on from IMAZ. So went home got the pedals got back to the race intime to warm up a bit in the pool and get ready for the race.
Event warmup:

100 y swim
Swim
  • 03m 57s
  • 200 yards
  • 01m 59s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had a good swim seeing this is the first time I have swam since April 15. I passed 3 people but never caught up with trigods who was right in front of me. I did get blocked though by one guy who slowed me down a bit.
What would you do differently?:

Umm Swim before th race!!!LOL
Transition 1

Good transition nothing much special

Comments:

Well this is my home town and it is hilly as hell. 1500 ft elevation gain on this course. Took off on my bike which I was mad because I knew my road bike would of been much better but started ok until we got to the first big as hill. My stomach was not feeling right and I knew I needed to puke so as I could not push no more I was off my bike puking on the side then walked my bike the rest of the way to the top. There was 4 more people in front of me walking theirs as well so I did not feel so bad. Got back on it and then flew down the hill. Basically the rest sucked cause I have rode 13 miles since April and man it was just to much climbing and I was not ready for it. I stuck with it though and hammered on getting passed by lots of people which is typically what always happens to me I am just slow so I really need to drop some weight. So after climbing and climbing we get back in to the race site and that was over thank god!
What would you do differently?:

Umm again train and loose some of the fatness on my self
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 40m
  • 3.1 miles
  • 12m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Run was just a out and back on the walking trail. pretty flat. The good news no one passed me!! Run felt ok but it was slow as hell as well but the craziest or bravist or whatever thing I saw was a woman running barefoot. Did I also mention we ran on lots of gravel!!! Ouch!
What would you do differently?:

Umm train and not be a fat ass!!! Are we seeing a pattern??
Post race
Warm down:

Got a bottle of water took my shoe off cause my feet were blistering and relaxed. Oh also gave Jaimie my GF a big thank you kss for coming out it was her first tri and she said she was hooked!! To cheer only though. Also sat around and watched the award ceremonies with Chris and Shannon then headed to the hickory house for some barbecue!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Umm zero training oh and my fat ass!!
