Sunny
Total Time = 1h 17m 30s
Overall Rank = 25/150
Age Group = W35-39
Age Group Rank = 1/11
Pre-race routine:

Ate two chocolate fudge pop-tarts and drank a glass of milk. Drove to the race site with the hubby. Took a short walk.
Event warmup:

Nothing.
Swim
  • 11m 29s
  • 800 yards
  • 01m 26s / 100 yards
Comments:

This is the first sprint I have done where I actually swam at a pace faster than "easy." I rounded bouy's well, sighted well and drafted. In the pool this distance would have been done in 8.5 minutes, so I'm not sure what went on here. I'm thinking that either the course was in meters, or was long.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

The guy next to me bumped my bike, my helmet ended up in the rack of bikes next to mine. It took me about 1 minute to find it. I was panicing.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. This was a great transition time for me despite having lost my helmet.
Bike
  • 40m 12s
  • 15 miles
  • 22.39 mile/hr
Comments:

I went out hard knowing that this was a short sprint race. It was great fun with lots of hills.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 00m 40s
Comments:

Bike shoes off, running shoes on, hemet off, running hat on. Done!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 23m 33s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

I met a gal on the run who was running my same pace. We had great conversation, and it made the time pass quickly. We finished the tri at the same time. Best 5k time yet!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Drank a bottle of water and power aid, then ate a bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training for speed this year, although I still feel well conditioned from my Ironman a month ago.

Event comments:

This course still needs to be altered to get the bikes off of the narrow 3 ft path. Until new roads are made, I don't think that this will happen. Otherwise, the volunteers, food, organizaion was fantastic!
