Swim
Comments: 1st open water swim. Bumped into a lot. Had a nice stretch where it was only me and could concentrate on my stroke, but that didn't last too long. Used the breaststroke a little bit to find my whereabouts. Didn't use normal breathing pattern. Learned a lot from this swim that I can take into the Annapolis Tri in September. What would you do differently?: Breathing pattern. Stroke concentration. Direction awareness. Possibly a better warm up (Stretch, jog, get the HR going a bit more) Transition 1
Comments: Poor decision on shirt preference. Took forever to put on my Nike compression shirt, very bad idea. Sucked down a gel. Forgot gloves (lack of preparation). Helmet was fine, shoes were fine. Could be much improved. What would you do differently?: Preparation, Preparation, Preparation Better choice of shirt. Bike
Comments: The best segment I had. Driving the night before was helpful. The hills were a lot tougher than expected. Scenery was nice. What would you do differently?: Practice a stronger cadence to push through the hills. Practice spinning more to avoid using the large twitch muscles. Transition 2
Comments: First time approaching T2 biking on shoes for the last mile or so. It wasn't bad. What would you do differently?: Socks!!!!! Now that I have lock laces, I can use the extra time to put on socks. Also, I need to take a gel on the bike the last mile of the race since I can't eat during the run. Run

Woke up 3 hours prior to race.
Breakfast: Oatmeal, Bagel w/ Peanut Butter, Apple Juice
Hydrated w/ water and Gatorade up until race start.
Set up transition area. Need to focus more on preparation!!
Swam in the lake for about 5-10 minutes. Light swim to get comfortable with temperature of water (76-degrees).
