Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3:30 for and ate a bagel w/peanut butter and a bowl of oatmeal drank coffee. Then drove the hour and a half to New Braunfels.
Event warmup:

Did a 15 min easy run recon on course and then swam about 400 M easy. Did some stretching after the warm up.

Warm down:

Walked around got a massage from the ART folks, and then ate a burger and drnak a ton of accelerade and water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Good race overall, just wish the water was a bit cooler for the swim.

Event comments:

Jack and Adams definetly puts on a good race. However I was not thrilled about the Hot pink swim cap

WOW, hot pink for guys, I think the RD should think about what colors to give age groups. I've seen the same thing before hot pink for the guys and blue for women. Anyways congrats on your race you have some awesome times.

Hey I watched you swim! We were standing by the water watching the Open wave. It was awesome watching the first few really haul it in. NICE JOB!

smoking times out there. Really nice job. I'm on my 4th year of tri's and I can say, i've had about 5-6 hot pinks cap.

Thanks I am happy with the results. I hope to see some of Y'all at the Austin Triathlon and Longhorn. I wandered around after the race looking to see if I might be able to spot some folks from BT but there were so many people. Oh well hopefully at Austin.

I'd wear the ugliest, gayest colored cap in the world if I could swim even nearly as fast as your time.

great race. looks like you were on top of all 3 disciplines. i see you are from harker heights. i lived there for 7 years (85-91) on antelope trail. i still visit friends there from time to time. good luck at the austin triathlon and maybe we will cross paths at longhorn.
