Great race organization and nice area. Will likely be a very challenging half IM though. I did the Muskoka Chase for the second time(2002, 2007) this year and I thought the bike course kicked my posterior harder than IM LP. Maybe it was because I was still fighting w/ my knee pain issue at that point but was not an easy course. And then the run seemed to be uphill both ways. It also got hotter than I was expecting for that far north. So would I do a Trisport race and specifically Muskoka again? Heck, yes.

So for anyone looking for a later season 70.3 event, check this one out. It's a nice resort region at fairly reasonable prices(not like Lake Placid Ironman week). It is a long drive but if you're making it a destination race just fly into Toronto and drive the couple hours north.

I love it! I did the Muskoka Chase last year and it was a killer course for me, that plus excellent organization made it a winner. I have been looking around for a 1/2IM later in the year, and this is relatively local for me, so I will be signing up tomorrow morning 1st thing.

The area is great for family vacations, with lots of interesting towns and scenic spots. Some very good eating spots in the area as well.

I could be wrong but I think it sold out quite awhile ago.

I plan on going but just to watch, my buddies family has a sweet cottage pretty much right on the course, so I'm pretty excited. I really should look into volunteering.

Officially sold out announcement was on Jan 9, but runmini posted the above back in August.
