Pre-race routine:

Drove to Lake T was on a conference call about a conference call that I needed to be on the next day.
Event warmup:

I swam about 100yd to get started and mostly because Stone freaked me out about the 2 inch waves and maybe using the wetsuit. I walked back to the car got the wetsuit and then saw other people putting it on so I did also.
Swim
  • 09m 54s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 29s / 100 yards
Comments:

This is a total miracle. I had to look at my watch multiple times to be totally sure I was actually out of the water in 7:41. Whoo hooo
What would you do differently?:

Swim Harder. I was freaked out about getting hit continually that I was trying to avoid people instead of just swimming.
Transition 1
  • 00m 13s
Comments:

I was breathing pretty hard when I came out of the water so T1 was like "rest stop 1".
What would you do differently?:

I should have actually practiced once and been 100% if where to put my stuff.
Bike
  • 36m 36s
  • 11 miles
  • 18.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Good easy ride. Half uphill and half downhill (approximately)
What would you do differently?:

I would ride wayyyy harder. I left a whole lot for the run as as we can tell by my logs and
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Time included in Run- approximately 2 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing this was probably as good as I could get.
Run
  • 39m 21s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 12m 18s  min/mile
Comments:

I sucked here. I did a walk run and I really needed to run a lot more than I did. I'm on the couch to 5k plan and my logs really reveal that I shouldn't have even been this fast. I didn't push it enough on the first half of the run because I was more concerned with finishing than running.
What would you do differently?:

This is an area of immediate improvement for the next tri. If I can work on this split and maintain the others I will be making a huge difference.
Post race
Warm down:

bajapat poured a beer down my back and I hung out for the swag.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My mind. I was so worried about DNF and just beating DFL that I didn't really give myself a chance to go all the way. I will pack a GU in my tri suit for the next one because I was dragging at the end of the run.

Event comments:

This is a great race for a newbie like me. Well controlled and nice course.
