I know that elevation can be somewhat relative.  Here's the scoop on the run.

Ok, maybe it's me, but that is not looking like the flat run you all have been trying to tell me it is.

Ann,

If you look at the numbers you will see that the most those hills are are 10 feet or so.  Really that isn't much at all.  It is just rolling if anything and if you can even call it that.

Hey, thanks!  That is all fabulously helpful information.  You're right, it is only 10 feet if you know how to read a graph!!!  Imagaine that.....  Anyhow, Thnaks a load, bikergrrl, your summary of the bike is valuable and the elevation graph of the run is fun to look at.  I hope to get out to bike some hills very soon over here.  I have an indoor Tri next weekend, so I've been focusing on the swimming a bit more than usual.  After that it is all bike.

Yep.  They mentioned the wave starts in the most recent newsletter.  Although they didn't say how they were going to do it.

Ugh!  I started a new job and haven't had any time to train for this!!!!  I guess it is just going to be a nice, leisurely ride for 22 miles.....  hope those hills don't kill me!

I haven't had time either....so if anyone wants to join me for last place, I'd love the company :-) I'm going to end up walking most of it because my bum knee has been pretty bad lately

Hey Ladies -

The waves were sent out in a recent e-mail.  In case you missed it:

Wave Race Starts:
Transition opens at 5:30 a.m.
7:30 a.m. Wave #1 Age Group 30 - 34
7:33 a.m. Wave #2 Age Group 29 & under
7:36 a.m. Wave #3 Age Group 35 - 39
7:38 a.m. Wave #4 Age Group 40 - 44
7:40 a.m. Wave #5 Age Group 45 +

(USAT age, not "real age" necessarily).  I am psyched because I get to go first!  They said there are 900 registered.  Even if 100 poop out, that's still a big crowd.  Yikes.

I'm in the second wave......when folks pass me, cheer me on. Part of me seriously wants to DNS because my knees are killing me (my short bike ride today was not fun, and that was a commuter trip). I'll need the encouragement! Anyone passing me with a smile will get kudos too :-)

Let's just look for each other near the food area.  Since we will finish at varying times, it's hard to pick a time.  I know I can pick out Nora and androgenie.   Maybe everyone can try to post their number here after packet pick-up on Saturday so we can look out for those?

And good luck to everyone!

I certainly did! I put a new max speed on my bike today too (39.4 on the last downhill!).

Anyone know how many women finished? I want to put up my race report, but all I know is that I finished 666 out of ? racers

I got a little freaked out when I hit 36.7mph on the downhill, with people right in front of me, beside me, and behind me...but I lived. I saw someone who didn't fare so well - she was fine, but her bike was missing the front wheel, front spoke, 1 pedal, and 1 handlebar.

Total finishers: 727

My computer said I topped out at 66 MPH!  I think that's hysterical.  I am sure I would have gotten the death wobble before that.  I didn't know about the accident, yikes.

Casey - I thought I saw you on the course and came up next to this women and said "Is that Casey?"  It wasn't you.  Sorry we missed you.  666...well, that's just plain scary! Are you the devil?
