Overall Rank = 256/679

Pre-race routine:

I really have to work on this. I ate en ENTIRE pizza the night before. This can't happen again. Banana & coffee in the morning. Again-not happening again.
Event warmup:

No warm up - ugh!
Swim
  • 26m 18s
  • 800 yards
  • 03m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Nothing to say here really. I suck in the swim. I did most of it back stroke. I was great until midway through to the second bouy. I have some kind of a mental thing going on. I know I can cover the distance. I did feel more comfortable in the water than last week.
What would you do differently?:

Not eat the pizza. Suck it up and swim freestyle the entire way!
Transition 1
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Bike course was super hilly. I didn't expect that. I did well though. I think I stayed strong mostly throughout. I did have to recover a little after the hills for a second.
What would you do differently?:

hmmm. I'm pretty satisfied. Obviously I would work on increasing my speed a little...OH and also I need to work on taking in more fluids on the bike.
Bike
  • 44m 28s
  • 12.8 miles
  • 17.27 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a challenging course, I thought. Was hilly and I was exhausted, again, from the swim.
What would you do differently?:

I could have pushed myself harder on the flats, definitely. Also I need to take in more fluids on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

I think I do pretty good in transitions. I focused and not particular.
What would you do differently?:

Can't think of anything. I probably waste :20 putting on my garmin ;)
Run
  • 27m 12s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt much better on this run than I did last week in Brigatine. My approach is JUST RUN! It's only 2 miles. My foot is hurting!
What would you do differently?:

Run harder and much faster
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing really. Just walking around drinking and eating.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think poor nutrition has a teeny bit to do with it. Nutrition in my life. The entire pizza I ate really doesn't work for me, and I should have learned this last week @ Brigatine, but I have learned it now.

Event comments:

This was a great race. I enjoyed it a ton. I would definitely do it next year.

Great job with the race and good detail on the race report. I saw some chick walking around with a BT tri suit on this morning... was wondering if it was you. I didn't have enough time to stop to ask. Again great race!

Congratulations on finishing another triathlon! Hey, if it was really easy everyone would be doing it. You will do fine in Chicago - last year I saw a guy doing doggy paddle almost all the way!  Wetsuit is a must there, the water can be really cold, although now it's quite warm on the surface, but the waves can mix it all up.

I LOL when I saw your comment about the turn around at the bottom of that hill! I live nearby, so got to practice that course a few times. Didn't help me go much faster, but at least I knew what to expect.

I have found that with a few swim clinics, my confidence has improved greatly and my enjoyment in the water. Next thing to work on in speed.

Great job on your race!

Beautiful place to race, isn't it?
