Comments: Not sure what went wrong. It was a 'C' race for me so I was going to run easy and go for a goal time of 40 minutes. The whole race I was doing 4min kilometers and at 5k (1 loop) I was at 20:11. The second loop was going smooth and at about 7.5-8k I started to pick up the pace to finish strong and make sure I was sub 40. I "know" I was definitely running faster the last 2 kms but for some reason, they took forever. Not sure if the km markers were wrong or the whole distance was off. Considering the winning time was about 37mins (and it was a provincial Championships) I'd say the total distance was off. Oh well, was more of a training run for me anyways. What would you do differently?: Nothing, it was a smooth race. Start easy, run smooth at a good pace and picked it up last 2 kms. Post race
Warm down: Did some stretching and waited for my wife and sister to finish the 5k. Event comments: This marathon weekend is just starting to get bigger so there wasn't too much going on. They didn't have too much after the race in terms of food. Some flavoured water that I didn't like. Lots of stuff for the kids though which was a big plus. Last updated: 2007-08-14 12:00 AM

Was with my wife's family so we all took the train from downtown to the race site (University). Hard to get my usual routine/food in because of having to worry about everyone else and just arriving the night before. Oh well!
Light jogging and some stretching. Oh and running after all the kids doing the Kids Mile to take pictures!! I was the crazy uncle with the camera!
