Sounds like my idea.  Easy 5k.  Moderate Half.  And rip one, really good, on Sunday. (then stop at the bathroom

I'm doing the full.  Not for time.  For fun.  I think Bets and I are doing Star Wars costumes???  I don't remember what we decided.  But we're gonna be loud and obnoxious and have a fun time.

Last year I ran my off and finished in 4:20 with bleeding ***** but turned around and ran 3:39 at Gasparilla three weeks later with less effort.  So I give up trying to do well at the house of mouse...besides, the non-parks parts of the course are very boring so it saps my spirit fast.

I'm sure there will be the usual fun group of BTers there and I'm up for having another fun gathering like last year and the year before.  Plenty of time to work it out!

My husband, brother and law and I are doing the full. First stand a lone marathon for me. I'd love to finish sub 4 but would be happy to finish with a smile . . .

Goofy!

13.1: Warm-Up
26.2: Long Run
39.3: Just Plain Goofy!

(I found that on disneyrunning.com. I loved it. I want a t-shirt!)

Goal:
13.1 - to be able to walk and play at Magic Kingdom with my family AFTER the race.
26.2 - to be able to be at Magic Kindom with my family AFTER the race.

I'm in for Goofy. Did it the 1st year and loved/hated it. I know what to expect so should be fun. Looking for a sub 2 and sub 4 (if possible).

Also curious as to what others are doing the day between the two races.

I plan on doing a park with the little one (will be 18 months) but being in bed by 9ish. Eating tons and a nice ice bath then massage right after race.

I'm in for the full marathon.  Second year running.  Last year boinked at mile 12 and dragged my sorry behind all the way home for 5:30ish time.  This year plan to run 4:15 range.  Granted, hoping 1 of 2 things happens : either NY weather goes to the mid 70s to train or Florida weather is in the 40s for race day (instead of last year's scorcher).

Tentative plan is to do Goofy next year, as my wife's best friend wants a buddy to run the half with her.

I heard it was in the 40s for 2006 and the 80s for 2007. I guess that's just winter in Florida for you. Be prepared for anything.

I ran in 2006 and loved the weather and the race.  Hoping for the same this year.

I'm in for Goofy '08.
Goal in half: Pace a 65 yr old coworker in sub 8:30 pace, and he probably will place in age group. (He actually got me started running last year... I couldn't keep up with him in a 3 mile run, and I vowed to get better than him!)
Goal in marathon: My first marathon! Goal is to Qualify for Boston: 3:15 !!!! (Check out my training logs... think I'm ready??)

I'm staying at Bonnet Creek Wyndham Resort, right next to Carribean Beach Resort. Pln on walking to the marathon start (1.35 miles), and have a support crew bring my stuff for after the race.
After the half I plan on icing, then eating pasta asap, and soaking in the resort hottub til I fall asleep then head back to my room.
I plan on going to Pleasure Island Sunday night, even if I have to crawl!

We're flying in on Friday evening and I was planning on heading over to the Expo sometime on Saturday.

I'm up for meeting Saturday afternoon sometime - probably won't see any of you Half Maries - but best of luck!

Well, I bought my plane ticket so I guess I will be doing Goofy again this year. Looks like I will meet some new BTers, which is always a treat! I will be arriving Friday morning and going home Sunday after the marathon. Just a short trip this time. Can't wait to see Jeff and Betsy in their costumes!

I'm checking in Thursday night and doing the 5k on Friday morning.

Planning to go to MGM Studios sometime Friday to play around if anyone wants to join.  Chose a small park so I don't burn out the legs before Goofy.

I'm in for the full. My 2nd marathon, goal is 3:20. A tad slower if it's going to be a warm day. I'm hoping for a nice 40-50 degree morning!

The kids run is at the Disney Sports Complex.  I think you have to register online.  Go to the marathon weekend site and look for the lids races option.  They had a 5k but it is full and there are a couple of others that are open.  Try this link (if it works)

Subject: Bib Number Available (transfer) - Full Marathon
Hey all,

My family member will not be able to run in the Disney Full Marathon, as he has not been able to train for it this year (adoption/work/etc). If someone is interested in running... the bib number is available for the cost to normally register for it (he said it was $105). Disney is very strange about transfers and such and the name will not be able to be changed but the medal and pride would be yours. If you would like the bib, let me know so I can get my uncle to get the chip and number to hand off to you. If no takers, no prob.
