Comments:

I think I should not have warmed up quite as long as I had, and I had to push a little to get back to the start area. Started out fairly easy, and with the climb it felt pretty tough. Didn't really pass very many people this time. Gave up a few spots in the 2nd mile and took 2-3 back in that same stretch.

Mile 2 was a little deceptive. There is a small climb but it is harder on you than you really think about.

I was not hoping to break 25:00 tonight, this course was the first course I broke 30 on last year. So I was wanting to run smart and do at least as well as I did then. I did beat last year's time, by 11 seconds.

I had one gal that passed me just prior to the water stop, then I was pacing her as we approached the down hill. Passed her going down the hill, she told me I was doing a great job on the down hill. I was working hard enough that it was pretty hard to talk, so I didn't say anything. I am guessing I built up enough of a lead over her that she couldn't catch me before the finish.

I did get 3rd in my AG, but right off I don't know how many there were in the race.
What would you do differently?:

Train on more hills, and run more.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked back up the course and found Trigirl10, she told me she didn't need me to run her in. (I told her to catch that girl in front of her, she didn't catch her.) Trigirl10 came in 2nd in her AG the girl that finished 6 seconds in front of her got 1st.

I kept going back on the course until I found my youngest son, then ran in with him. He finished 4th in his AG, and beat his older brother (who walked the race) he finished in 40:04. I ran back in with him. Then I headed back out one last time to find my wife and son and youngest daughter. Wife got 2nd in her AG, son got 3rd in his AG. They finished in 56-57 minutes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not training enough. Running a Oly last Sunday

Event comments:

They give out awards for the top 5 in each AG. They also give away 2 bikes at this race each year. Pretty nice race, well run. They had popcicles after the race.... YUMMY!!!!
