I am on the "Intrepid team", ten people fully supported with designated swimmers bikers and a few all arounders. We will have a big RV as our base, and I hope you stop by to say hi! We should be easy to find.

Hi -
I'm new here & don't know y'all... but we have a team in the 8-hour race. I tried one last time to convince them to go for 24 hours but it was a no-go. Maybe next year. Considering that except for 1 of our team, we're all pretty new at tris it was probably a smart move....

We're in the 4+ team (Springs TriChics) - all doing sbr unless I bail on the swim & double something else . I'm really a pretty cruddy swimmer - so I started using Total Immersion techniques - broke my swim down to nothing and started my technique over from scratch. Let's just say it's not put back together yet, and if it weren't for side & back stroke I'd have nothing at all. Something about needing oxygen and not having gills....

Heck, with a team of 5, we'll actually have a pretty easy day!

Have a great 24 hours!

-Helen

RC...get on the PTC site. I am almost positive those guys can use you! If not you can "possibly" do a segment on our 24 team and leave whenever.

I was wanting to be part of a relay team and tried recruiting some folks but was unsuccessful into talking them into it. If anyone knows of a team that needs an individual let me know.

There was a link on the 24 hr race site that was for putting people together on teams. It may still be there.

So, was that fun or WHAT! ?

Our 8 hour team placed first in the women's category, and we did pretty well all in all, we felt. Heck, most of us are relative noobs. Noobs with boobs... maybe that should have been our name. Maybe next year, except it won't be true then.

A shout out to my team: You ladies rock.

Did you see the solo 24 hour men's winner results? Something like 21 tris plus a swim & bike or something. Geesh.

Absolutely recommend this race. It was very well run, the volunteers were plentiful and friendly, the staff was pleasant, the beer was free. Nice course. Nice shirt. Don't have my shoes yet, they were too small so my new pair will be here tomorrow.

Anyone taken their Newtons for spin yet?

And, woohoo, in honor of my 41st birthday Monday and because my 10 year old beat up entry-level heavy-metal barely-gear-changing bike that I ride like a madwoman anyway is just completely inadequate [and doesn't match my shoes] a new one is coming my way after I pick it out. My engine, but not my bottom, has outgrown my bike, I think. Of course I can get faster, but I finally feel like I have earned it, ya know?
