And the rest of the days, you cry yourself to sleep missing Brownsville.

Master 1292 Houston | Subject: RE: Yo Texas! Buckleup and get ready to hunkerdown We are doing exactly that today. It's looking like south Texas will be most affected but we are preparing just in case. Especially with the amount of rain we have already received thanks to Erin, flooding will be the real issue. This is my first season that I'm not an "essential personnel" for work. They just completed hurricane drills this week in preparation for the storm. I sort of miss that process but I am trying to transfer that energy to the home front this time. Take care everyone! |

CARL HIAASEN - HURRICANE JOURNALISM (from the Miami Herald) Excerpts from The Handbook for Roving Hurricane Correspondents: Welcome to the exciting world of hurricane journalism! While your highly paid colleagues on the anchor desk are broadcasting from the dry safety of a heavily fortified television studio, you and your camera crew will be out in the maw of the storm, risking your lives for no good reason.

OMG I never thought I'd ever meet another soul in my natural born life who has previously lived in Brownsville too. And I cry myself to sleep missing that place, too. |

Elite 2706 Hurst, Texas | Subject: RE: Yo Texas! Buckleup and get ready to hunkerdown Have you ever been to Brownsville? I just spent 12 years there. It is like a prison, where you can't escape the illiteracy, poverty, and dirty politics. The weather was great for training, but it really was hard to find many redeeming qualities about the place. |

Yeah, I visited there for a week a couple of summers ago, but I've never lived there and that's why I asked. I could probably name some places that have all of the characteristics you mentioned and aren't so close to the beach though.
