Age Group Rank = 6/15
Pre-race routine:

I just got my transition area set up and then chatted with fellow racers that I ran into.
Event warmup:

Short swim.
Swim
  • 13m 28s
  • 962 yards
  • 01m 24s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was a great swim for me. I think the course might have been a hair short due to my fast time but maybe it was just that good of day!! It was a little tough navigating back due to having to look into the sun.
What would you do differently?:

Just swim faster (a.k.a. my offseason goal)
Transition 1
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

I was really happy with this time and effort.
What would you do differently?:

Try to be quicker...
Bike
  • 48m 34s
  • 17 miles
  • 21.00 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a good ride for me. I really felt like I was pushing it and in the end it looked like it payed off. Definitely need to get stronger in the off-season. And maybe get a new bike :) But the if the engine behind it doesn't work, the bike can only do so much.
What would you do differently?:

Just go faster :)
Transition 2
  • 00m 45s
Comments:

I dismounted my bike this time better than I could have ever dreamed of. The whole transition went great. Ran and put my race belt on which I'm not sure if I've done before but it worked out great and probably saved a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

I don't really know...okay maybe somehow be faster :)
Run
  • 26m 44s
  • 4 miles
  • 06m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a fairly good run for me. I found I needed to keep reminding myself to push it but I'm happy with my time.
What would you do differently?:

Be faster!! I've never been happy with myself in the past unless I won so there is kind of this reoccuring theme, which means I have plenty of goals for the offseason and can't wait to see it pay off next summer :)
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around and chat with racers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My training :S I'm not really sure, I was happy with my performance.

Event comments:

I really enjoyed the guy that MC'd the event. He did a good job and had a good mix of music to entertain the crowd. Definitely will do this one again if I have the time.

You are developing into a fine triathlete. You have learned a ton this year and next year it's time to begin applying that knowledge.

Your bike was a tad faster than 21mph. The course is actually 17.35 miles.

If you have any questions on training or bikes, feel free to PM me in the future.

Great Race! It seems like you put a solid race together with excellent times in all 4 disciplines (SBR + Transition).

It was nice meeting you, even though you are a Sioux fan (NDSU grad here).  You had a great race...I hope to see you at some more races next year
