Comments: This was my first time to tackle such a distance. I'd only done 36 miles previously and that was last week when I wrecked. Had a nice group of people and really enjoyed the morning spent riding with them. There were 4 water/food stops that were very well stocked and great volunteers: mile 10, 35, 48, 56. These stops really helped break up the ride so it was more enjoyable. My girly bits starting getting very angry at me towards the end of the ride but that's to be expected. The ride was fairly flat with some rolling hills. The worst hills were within the last 15 miles or so of the finish. Figures. What would you do differently?: Ride more, and ride more consisently. Post race
Warm down: Loaded the bike on the rack, then walked to get my t-shirt, food, and drinks. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of consistent training and distance previously traveled. Event comments: Put on by Oncology Supply of Dothan, AL, among others, this ride was to benefit Children's Hospital of Alabama. There were over 400 registered riders and several more registered the day of the race. Will definitely do this next year, maybe even the 100 mile ride instead. :) Last updated: 2007-08-03 12:00 AM
