I just didn't feel strong, I thought during the first half once I got to the turn around it would be smooth sailing.

Then I hit the turn around and the wind had shifted a little. I dropped a mile per hour or more.

Racing too soon after another race. Not enough sleep. Too dang hot.... who knows what all contributed to it.

Nothing wrong with racing with tired legs (unless of course it's an "A" race).  It's cool having these club races like this in the evening.  Good job getting out there in this hot muggy weather.
