Comments: Waiting and riding later threw me a little bit. My warm up also wasn't much help since it had been about 45 mins before I actually rode up to the start line. A much better race than some of the ones this summer. Still frustrating to know that I only need to pick up an avg of 3 secs per lap to lower my PR. Overall, feel pretty good about it since I wasn't sure if I was even going to get to ride tonight due to our childcare situation. Karen has been great about watching the kids while I ride, so I was going to sit out and let her ride. The staff at the race was kind enough to let me bump my time back until after Karen had a chance to finish. What would you do differently?: Pedal harder! Post race
Warm down: Tried not to vomit....really hammered the back stretch and pit road of the last lap. Didn't have my HR so I don't know how high it got. Hung out with Jeff & Karen for a few minutes before we loaded the whole group back into the Family Truckster for the ride home. Had to drag the whole clan with us tonight. We couldn't get anyone to babysit so this was a less than fun experience. All of the kids were crazy. Actually managed to get to the track early enough to have time to get things settled
2 warmup laps before they closed the track. Was supposed to start at 6:32 but waited until after Karen finished, so I actually started about 7:08. My warmup didn't do me much good by that time.
