Comments:

Typical swim for me. Slow and steady.
Other than races I haven't swam since right before the Ironman so it is to be expected. Even still I'm slooow! I know it...
Transition 1
  • 02m 18s
Comments:

Seemed really slow. couldn't get out of the suit then could't get on the bike.

What would you do differently?:

Next year I'll have tri shoes so It will be smoother.

Bike
  • 2h 52m 31s
  • 56.7 miles
  • 19.72 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt really strong on the bike. No mechanicals. Started to fade towards the end of last lap. Additional hill training for next year.

Head winds both directions weird how that works???

This is a real challenging course. Very little is flat. There are several cool downhills and several pretty big up-hills.
What would you do differently?:

More training. Again, since Lake Placid I have slacked off a bit.
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

Once again slow. Just me!
Run
  • 2h 31m 2s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 11m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

It was friggin hot as hell and humid. it really sucked.
Explain to me why this race started at 9 instead of 7...
What would you do differently?:

Run more hills.
Post race
Event comments:

Overall, a good event. Should have started at 7am so the run didn't go into the hottest part of the day but...
If you're looking into this race for next year take your training seriously. This is a hard race!

I did the mini that day. Anyone doing the 1/2 is a brave soul b/c that course is tough and that heat was brutal. I felt bad watching the 1/2ers on the run portion.
Kudos to you...

Still, on a hilly and challenging course, you ran a great race. I'm glad I got to see you on the bike (and give you the last cold water bottle). Awesome job- sprints, oly's, HIMs, and Lake Placid in 1 year..... You've really made a name for yourself. I wanna be you when I grow up. Of course that's still maaaaaaaaaaaany years from now when I reach your age. You're almost at masters, right?

Challenging course on a brutal day!  Nice job hanging in there and finishing.

I used to think the 9am start time was kind of cool.  But this is the second Endurasport race I've done this season that probably would have been better off with a more traditional 7am kickoff.
