Comments: decided to go out fast and furious, and that was a major mistake...As soon as I rounded the buoy my shoulders and arms started to feel numb and noodle like, people started to pass me and I knew that I lost my chance for a PR this race. What would you do differently?: This entire season I trained for olympic/long course events, I never went out fast, did as well as I wanted on the swim. I changed my routine and messed up. Transition 1

Comments: about 2 miles into the bike I ralized that I was not going near as fast as I wanted. My breathing was off from the swim, and I also did not have a speedometer on this bike. (i was riding my commuter road bike instead of my tri bike...still not fixed from the crash at the HIM) I felt like I pushed myself really hard the entire time, but I could not get from the bike what I normally would. I dont know why I expected to do better since the bike is too small for me, and has never been fitted. What would you do differently?: I wished I was on my Trek Equinox Transition 2

Comments: initially cramps in legs during first mile, then felt well and ran comfortably. Actually enjoyed the run, and was sort of sad this was not an olympic distance. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
Warm down: walked around, did not feel tired by the end of it all. What limited your ability to perform faster: poor race strategy, also need to do sprint specific training next season if I am to improve my times. Last updated: 2007-01-28 12:00 AM
