Run
Comments: I love this race. I do my sunday runs here every week anyway, so this is just a bonus - give a little $$ to the park system, get a t-shirt, talk to some of the people I see running every week, have a reason to bust my hump a little more than your average training run, and get a banana and a cool water afterwards! It couldn't have been a nicer day to run either - not humid, breezy, about 72 degrees... some people go to church on Sundays... I run. :) Oh, and an even bigger bonus - I took SEVEN MINUTES, 40 SECONDS off my time last year. I feel like the Queen of the Universe today :) Splits: 1 - 9:25 2 - 10:30 (this is a 'long mile,' they divert you off the trail a little, plus water stop) 3 - 9:40 4 - 10:42 (water stop, plus hilly/sandy) 5 - 11:09 +0:40 for the extra ~400 yards or so from the mile marker to the finish line What would you do differently?: Run faster! :) Next year, I want a sub-50 min race! Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a water and the driest chewy granola bar ever, parked my butt on the curb, caught my breath, and cheered in a few runners. Thanked a volley, marveled at the absolutely beautiful fall day, and headed home to brag to my husband and kid. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: My slowness? :) Last updated: 2007-09-11 12:00 AM

Since I live about 4 mintues away, I left at 8:15 to register and hang out for a 9am start. Rough life, eh?
Did the Slacker Warmup Stretchy-Dance and chatted with some folks.
