Pre-race routine:

Woke-up drove to the race. I was running a little late and didn't get into transition until after 6:00, but I managed to get everything set-up and into the water for the 6:30 start.
Swim
  • 17m 26s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 19s / 100 meters
Comments:

Not my greatest effort by far, but it was fun to swim in a race again!
Transition 1
  • 01m 49s
What would you do differently?:

Pretty smooth, could have gotten through it a little faster but no big deal.
Bike
  • 35m 58s
  • 12 miles
  • 20.02 mile/hr
Comments:

I haven't ridden in at least 2 weeks and it felt great to be on the bike again. I was able to go a lot faster than I though I would be able to and had no problem maintaining speed for the course.
Transition 2
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

A little slow.
Run
  • 24m 47s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt pretty good on the run. I didn't really push it to hard but it felt great to get off the bike and start running. Got to end the race with an awesome sprint to the finish with some guy, i love to end races like that!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

No being motivated to train lately.

Event comments:

I had fun day, I haven't been motivated to train lately (I don't know why) so I've just kind been taking a break. I think this race is what I need to get the motivation going again (and it's finally cooling off). Triathlon racing is such a fun sport and this reminded me of that!

Glad you enjoyed being out there racing. I did the sprint too, and it was so nice to do a race and not be overheating

Great job!

Sweet race! And what a fast run time!!

Glad this race kicked you in the butt and got you back on track!!  It becomes VERY hard to train in the waining days of summer when you just can't take the heat anymore!! Now that the heat is breaking you can start hitting it again. Set some goals and you will be right back on track.  Are you doing SOMA?  Let me know.
