Swim- 5200 yards
Bike- 167 miles
Run- 36.7 miles
Total Time- 14 hours

Began this week with an MAF test which showed some promising results. I averaged a 6:43 pace per mile at 149 bpm, so that is about 3 sec. faster than my best this March, for what it's worth. I also ran 8x800M repeats at the track averaging 2:38, finally bringing an end to speed work for this build. I had a good 16 mile run on Saturday following some open water swim paractice on Saturday and a 70 mile ride on Sunday @ 22.5mph...and I was beat! The cummulative effects of fatigue have now caught up with me and I am ready for the taper. next week is a lot of swimming. I am now starting to focus on the final logistecs for the trip to Kona....and the Pina Colada's in Maui!

And, from the back of the pack:

Swim- 3250 yards
Bike- 99 miles
Run- 26.6 miles
Total Time- 15 hours, 20 minutes

Except for one long run, this was taper.

I leave tomorrow for Hawaii. Wish me luck. I look forward to seeing this machine who calls himself Bryan. I don't think I could fall down stairs at 6:43/Mile.

have a safe trip Bryan!
I am finally healing from my hip/groin/butt pain which started on labor day weekend. haven't ran yet because I am scared but I'm feeling a lot better. I leave on sat for kona and I'd love to meet up with you! Email me [email protected] so we can meet up! I wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you have been for me. My goals for Ironman were completely destroyed when I suddenly got injured and now that I am finally getting better, I am so thankful that I am able to enjoy this experience to race in kona. With your positive updates on your post, I haven't lost the excitement to participate in this amazing race!
Thanks! Good luck to you!
