Comments:

This run was my first half mary and i did it as a relay with Team Tri Candy! I felt like i did really well for my first run at this distance. It was a little wierd to do the course 4 times, but i liekd being able to see all my NAMC peeps 4 times! I tried to be in good spirits for them cuz i knew they would be run down at that point.
I really liked all the water stations and orange slices!
And YAY for port-o-pottys, although i did get a pee show along the way.
I felt great all the way to mile 12, then running through the parking lot was kind of silly and deceiving. Plu my nasty blister starting hurting me by then. Overall it was a good run. I now have a benchamrk for other races.
What would you do differently?:

I would hydrate and eat closer to my run time, as it was hard to plan being in a relay. I would also body glide my feet! And i would start out a little slower. My pace for the 1st three miles were 9'30 miles, too fast for that distance.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank some water and gatorade, had a banana, then off to the med tent to get my blister treated. it was bloody and juicy, but they fixed it right up. Then had a beer, yummy!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing the course, feet started to hurt, heat was a factor...

Event comments:

THis race was set up well, the flow was good and there were lots of volunteers, except at packet pickup.

You did a GREAT job, especially for your first half mary!! I would have never known you were tired out there, you looked great the whole time!! Blisters suck, good just running through it to the finish - and I hated the stupid parking lot loop too!

Nice job...sounds like you had a great time on a relay!

Last year I did a HIM as a relay and it is such a different more fun feeling.

Way to go on your first half mary. That run course just sucks the life out of me. Something about the long, lonely stretch of road with no shade... Anyhoo, awesome job!!

Congratulations, Jamie!  You did a fabulous job out there... plus you made the medical staff's day with the blood blister... they were so over IVs .  You looked like you were having a blast everytime we saw you and that's what it's all about... positive attitude, fun and, of course, tri candy.
