Subject: Texas Triathlete in Training

Hello All,

Decided not to be a lurker anymore and introduce myself. I'm originally from Aliso Viejo, California but recently moved to Houston, TX. I'm an airline pilot with a good amount of time on my hands so I decided to start training for my first triathlon. Most of my background is in mountain biking, but I'm really starting to enjoy running/swimming.

I went out to the Cinco Ranch Tri this weekend and it looked like a blast. Definetely anxious to try my first tri.

I have found this site to be a great help with tracking my training.  I have been online at beginnertriathlete.com now for a month and I'm loving all the information. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from the site.

Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome! Glad to see you'e un-lurking!

Have you signed up for a tri yet or are you waiting for next year?

Hello kriscrn,

I was going to do one this year in the Woodlands, but it was canceled. Now it looks like it will be the CB&I at the beginning of next year.

Welcome to BT! Good luck with the training and go ahead and sign up for a tri as that is the BEST motivator of all.

Welcome Jet! I am thinking of all the cool opportunities you will have to train in different stop overs. Open water swimming in HI, hill training in CO, running the beaches in VA, well, you get the idea
