Hamner - 2007-10-17 3:07 PM I'm good, Chantix has been like a miracle pill for me.

Great!  Keep it up mate.  I know it is tough but you have a whole community pulling for you.

Hope you are still doing well.

I would take a dip occassionally in college - on geology field trips and the like.   If it wasn't for that spitting, I might have done it more and gotten hooked.  Glad you are breaking free.

27 days.  I'm pretty much done chewing gum.  I've gained 4-5 lbs depending on the time of day.

It's probably a little early to tell, but my runs are much easier and I think I'm about 20 seconds per mile faster at the same RPE.  Cycling, I don't know, because of the weather and daylight I've been on the trainer for the most part.  Swimming, eh, I took off a few weeks and forgot how to swim.  I'm not wrecked like I usually was at the end of a swim session, but I've just been doing long steady sets.

I still think about it and even had a dream about dip last night, but I don't have any desire to dip.

78 Days and $1580.  Done with Chantix, done with dip.  Woohoo, and all that good stuff.

I quit dipping Jan 27th of 2007, and I started this tri obsession April 2007. Training really helped my craving for the round can. I did it cold turkey I wish I had known about the medication.

Good luck

Smoke Free since 1 June 2002.

When you get the urge to dip or smoke.  Drop and do pushups (for the weight).  Brush your teeth.

Also go to the dentist and have your teeth cleaned.  Start attacking the gum disease that you probably have before you have to have oral surgery.
