Gina's Hot!!  Or so I heard.   Good luck, Gina, and good luck, Tom. I'll check in shortly.

BTW...the Website accepts PM-type encouragement, and prints them out and reads them to the racers as they go. Might not be a bad ideal to throw Gina and Tom a message of encouragement sometime this week/weekend.

Gina you have done the training, go enjoy the days racing, may everything go smoothly and if things come up you adjust and are easily overcome. You are mentally strong and that is a huge asset for you.

We'll be following your progress.....go gettem Gina!

Tom, you have  great race. Seems like you have a large group of folks who will be there supporting/cheering you on. I love your attitude in training/racing. Enjoy it out there...big challenge but one you can do.

When does your race start Tom?

Anyone know the email address we can send messages too? Will there be a thread so we can follow their progress? Will it be on the IM board or here?  Will some of the BTers that are there helping/supporting post regularly to the threads?

Some race info:

The triple iron starts at 7 am on Friday (eastern time) and the double starts at 7 am on Saturday.  Both races have until 7 pm on Sunday to finish.  The e-mail address to send messages is [email protected] and the website to check for updates is usaultratri.com.  They were pretty bad about updates last year, but maybe they will do better this year.  Oh, and I'm the only 'Gina' so my first name should be all you need in the header, but there is more than one Tom so you should probably use his full name:  Tom Washington.  Also, aluminum1 (Tony Reed) is also doing the double so cheer him on as well!  There will be several BTer's at the site, perhaps they can help relay updates to someone on here.

Thanks so much for all of the encouragement!  I'm now terrified of letting the ENTIRE BT community down!

Oh, you guys will be out on the course on my b-day.  It will be an awesome day.

Gina do not worry about letting bt down. remember dfl > dnf > dns. Well remmber the last part. I hate to see you hurt yourself. 140.6 * 3 is a long long long long long ways to go. Hey if you can get thtough the 336 miles on the bike I will know that 112 maybe possible.

just signing up takes huge amount of courage and going to that start line alot more.

Good luck to everyone! You are all absolutely amazing and we are behind you 100%. We'll all be thinking of you and cheering you on.

In regards to updates, I spoke with the RD and he mentioned that he only has AOL (and very slow at that) access from the race site so I don't expect that we will see frequent updates. Sending messages of competitors to competitors is a great idea though.
