Comments: Well I started off this race on pace. My goal was to finish it in 39 minutes or 36. My first mile was 12 min and some change. I felt really good at the turn around, didn't feel tired at all. Got to mile two and things started to fall apart. I mean it was like I just mentally lost it. My legs were strong and so were my lungs but my head was just not in it. I started to shuffle and then I knew I had lost it. Then I just stopped. I wasn't tired I was just mentally exhausted. I think I just psyched myself right out of this race. Instead of fun I concentrated on times and it just didn't work for me. I only walked a couple of times and really ran the entire course mostly but my last mile took about 16 minutes. It was so embarrassing and I was so disappointed in myself. I wanted to cry. But I was six minutes faster than my first 5k this year in March so that was some consolation. What would you do differently?: Not give up mentally. Post race
Warm down: Margarita and strip steak! Then watched the coffin races. Don't ask! :) Last updated: 2004-10-04 12:00 AM

Should have known something was wrong when I got into the car and my temperature gage just said ICE and no temperature at all. It was so cold! I was really nervous and just couldn't get my head wrapped around this race. I was out of it. I don't know why.
