Anyone else planning on being there on October 21st? I will be doing the half and looking forward to normal October temps.

Yep- I will be there (with my mom!) running the half and assume that it will be cold and crappy by then.  Not at all interested in a repeat of Chicago.

I'll be there, I just don't know if I'm running. I've got to go through a build, peak, taper cycle in 2 weeks, with virtually no running in the last 3 weeks. We'll see.

I make an awesome jockstrap, tho.

I'm running the full along with the wife. Ok, I'll be running about a half hour behind the wife. Let's hope for normal October weather.

Shortyy - It will be my first half as well. I had to run 13 on Saturday just to make sure I could.

Rick - Does an awesome jockstrap have beer at the finish for his BT buddies? Just curious, since Bookies won't serve til noon and I don't expect to be running that long (I hope).

For you, bro, beer is at the finish. Now the issue...I think I'm running the half. So if you finish ahead of me, you'll have to work on a time-delay. But I'll bring it.

Glad to hear you're running. I'll have some coldies available as well. It's now a race day tradition.

I'm in for the full.  They are currently predicting temps in the low 70's.  Hoping for a little bit cooler than that myself.

We'll be at the expo when it opens on Saturday. Then, we're meeting Fromer for lunch...somewhere. If anyone wants to join, chime in. The more the merrier.

Also, Sunday I'm not racing, but I'm bringing my bike down...while G8R and the gang are running, I can watch 'em start, ride to the bridge and cheer 'em as they go to Canada, ride to the tunnel and cheer 'em there when the deCanadafy themselves, catch 'em before they hit belle isle and the return trip, THEN toward the finish line. Bike's the way to go for the Jockstraps.

I'll have a bright orange/black continental shirt and jeans on at the expo today.  For the race I'll have it on before and probably after (so will the people on the relay teams that our company is sponsoring).  I'm short and blond if you see me say hi!

I'll likely be the only girl in a Florida Gators shirt/hat with capri tights and a black Air Force jacket.  I'll also be the one freezing the entire day!! That wind was crazy today at the expo, and I'm hoping it calms down or it's gonna be a LONG 26.2!!

Haven't done the last weather check, but I will probably have on my red & white skirt and my Detroit Marathon T-shirt from *last* year (white). There are photos of me in my album if you want to track me down.

Otherwise, have fun everyone!

How'd y'all do yesterday? I really enjoyed it and had never been to a race that large. Thought the border crossings and some other scenery were really cool and a nice change for me. Beat my goal by about 7 sec per mile, and even noticed rkreuser in the crowd and yelled to him but was going so fast he probably only saw the blurrr.

Definitely less of a buzz for me for the running event compared to a tri.

Is the new finish location permanent or just this year? Finishing in Ford Field was always one of the things that would have drawn me to that race.
